He started his career as a model and was discovered by architect Takeo Kobayashi, winning Model of the Year in 1999. At the age of 19, he made his acting debut in the film Baywatch Hawaii, doing a low-maintenance job in a surf shop.
Jason Momoa also appeared in TV shows such as North Shore from 2004 to 2005 and Stargate: Atlantis from 2005 to 2009, as well as his debut film, Johnson Family Vacation, from 2004 to 2005.
