Simba the lion cub lives in Africa, where his parents, King Mufasa and Queen Sarabi, are extremely proud of him. Simba is trained by Mufasa to succeed him as king of the jungle. The innocent Simba, however, has faith in his envious uncle, Scar, who intends to kill Mufasa and Simba in order to succeed his uncle as king. He tricks Simba and his buddy Nala into visiting a forbidden location, where they are attacked by hyenas, but Mufasa saves them.

Scar then hatches a new plan to assassinate Mufasa and Simba, but the cub escapes and departs the kingdom, believing he was to blame for his father’s demise. As Simba is growing in a faraway land, Scar becomes the king, supported by the villainous hyenas. Later, when Nala runs across Simba, she informs him that the kingdom has turned into a frightening wasteland. How will Simba react?
